Sonja Folwell

Sonja is interested are in understanding land processes, which regulate the global water and energy cycles at the land surface, in particular how they operate over different timescales and how and where surface fluxes feedback into the atmosphere. She is also interested in the role of vegetation and how this and human activities such as deforestation and irrigation can modify the water cycle and feedbacks.

She is currently assessing the land surface behaviour and feedbacks in a new generation of high resolution convection permitting atmospheric model.
