Professional summary

Danial is a Spatial Analyst and is interested in implementing his expertise in GIS and coding to map and evaluate the distribution and benefits of green infrastructure, particularly in urban settings. With a background in social science, Danial is particularly interested in exploring aspects of equity and the extent to which access to green infrastructure and the subsequent benefits differ by population groups.

Danial was awarded his PhD from the University of Liverpool, and was a candidate on the Data Analytics and Society CDT. In his PhD, Danial adopted a Geographic Data Science approach and used data collected by mobile technologies and urban sensors, to visualise and extract mobility patterns in cities. Within his thesis, Danial mainly focused on uncovering changes in mobility patterns for active travel and public transport use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his PhD in Liverpool and during his role as a Spatial Analyst at UKCEH, Danial has worked with a variety of both data and analytical/programming software. He has experience working with both raster and vector data and most comfortable visualising and analysing spatial data using Python and QGIS.
