Professional summary
Carolin obtained her DPhil from Oxford University, UK in 2015 on the topic of silver nanoparticle ecotoxicology in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, as part of the Marie Curie ITN NanoTOES. Her BSc/MSc studies were in the field of Geoecology with a focus on ecotoxicology at the University of Tübingen, Germany.
Currently, Carolin is working on the effects on nanomaterial toxicity in the terrestrial environment and how the transformation of these materials may change their fate and effects. She is further contributing to efforts investigating how nanomaterial grouping can be implemented in their Risk Assessment.
Carolin has taken up the role of Science Area Coordinator for Pollution in 2023 in addition to continuing her work as an ecotoxicologist.
