Mx. Robin Hutchinson

Robin's work focuses on biological recording - they support recording schemes and the UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme with data management. They also work on iRecord and the Indicia online recording system. Robin focuses on using R to clean and check data, and to transform data into the format needed for data mobilisation, improving data accessibility. They provide summaries and visualisations of the data stored in Indicia.

As part of their work, Robin also supports volunteers and publicises the value of participating in biological recording through talks and articles. 

Robin is particularly interested in the ecology of parasitoids, and in understanding how parasitoids are impacted by invasive species and other global threats.

Robin is the Gender Policy Officer for ALDER, the British Ecological Society's network for the LGBTQIA+ ecologists, and wrote their guidance on gender neutral language.
