Professional summary

Zeke is an ecological data scientist and plant ecologist whose primary interest is in the creation of decision support tools and models which aid in the improvement of ecological restoration and habitat management outcomes. More specifically, this involves the development of ecological niche models and community assembly models, which aim to predict plant community composition trajectories.

He is also passionate about conservation horticulture, working with Kew Wakehurst to develop a propagation protocol for the controlled pollination of Populus nigra subsp. betulifolia, is a trained seed collector for the Millennium Seed Bank, and works to conserve rare, scarce, and threatened vascular plant species in VC66 at Durham University Botanic Gardens.
