Project: MAMBO (Modern approaches to biodiversity monitoring)
Timescale: 2022-2026
Funder: European Union Horizon programme
Lead institute: Aarhus University
UKCEH lead investigators: Dr David Roy, Dr France Gerard
Project overview
MAMBO will develop, test and implement enabling tools for monitoring conservation status and ecological requirements of species and habitats for which knowledge gaps still exist. The project brings together the technical expertise of computer science and remote sensing, social science expertise on human-technology interactions, environmental economym and citizen science, with biological expertise on species, ecology, and conservation biology.
The MAMBO project will demonstrate AMI-traps across EU countries in 2023 and 2024.
