Hattie Barber

Hattie is a Research Associate and lab manager within the Ecology & Evolution group. Her work aims to improve our understanding of how plant species and communities respond to change, with a particular focus on the pressures of climate change and novel pests/diseases on trees and forests. Approaches can range from utilising common garden trials to identify genetically-controlled traits, to developing risk assessments for the introduction of novel tree species. The majority of her current work surrounds the management of Scots pine experiments and collection/analysis of the resulting trait & genetic data.
