Issy works as a Project Manager on a range of scientific research projects in the Freshwater Restoration and Sustainability group at Edinburgh. In her role she is the Assistant Project Coordinator on The uPcycle Project which aims to bring together the global lake management and sustainable phosphorus management communities, to develop and test a sustainable phosphorus management framework in Chile. Issy leads on the gender mainstreaming efforts of the project as well as co-leading the project's fourth component which is focused on communication, dissemination and policy engagement. Issy also contributes to research outputs, leading on systematic and scoping reviews.
