Joanna Harley

I am a researcher of Coastal Ecosystem Science, a fitting position for a generalist who has identified unusual marine invertebrates, worked on marine fungi and bacterial metabarcoding projects, surveyed saltmarshes and organised outreach events and projects. My work currently spans coastal habitat restoration and the ecosystem services it delivers. Projects I am currently involved include investigating rates of denitrification in UK saltmarsh soils; characterising resilience and vulnerability of coastal habitats to climate change pressures; characterising UK gravel barrier habitats and extent; prioritisation of saltmarsh restoration and management and reviewing seascape restoration in the UK.
