Within her field, she has worked on several topics, including: using citizen science to investigate human fungal pathogens in homes, farms and composters; carrying out river water sampling to investigate bacterial load and resistance; researching dissemination of AMR in the environment through wild animals; and, university projects on differing phenotypes of various strains of Candida albicans and Candida glabrata.
Rachel has a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter and an MSc in Medical Microbiology from Queen Mary University of London.
