Dr Sarah Roberts's areas of specialism cover conducting pollution risk assessments, collating and analysing environmental exposure and ecotoxicological datasets. Her work includes hazard and exposure ranking of chemicals in the environment, species sensitivity modelling and building ecotoxicological databases to conduct meta-analysis on contaminant data. Dr Roberts has published first authored papers and contributed as a co-author to papers on environmental contaminants.
Dr Roberts has worked as a lecturer at University College London and as a research scientist and postdoctoral research fellow at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters in Burlington, Ontario. Her current research projects include: ETERNAL: Boosting the reduction of the environmental impact of pharmaceutical products throughout their entire life cycle; DEFRA: Research into measuring and valuing the cost of chemical pollution in the UK; ASINA: Anticipating safety issues at the design stage of Nano product development; and, SABYNA: Simple, robust and cost-effective approached to guide industry in the development of safer nanomaterials and nano-enabled products.
