Intensity-duration-frequency curves were produced in Senegal during the AMMA-2050 project. Intensity-duration-frequency curves are used to estimate the probabilities of rainfall occurrences for various durations of rainfall and are practically applied in the design of hydraulic structures for runoff management and flood protection.
This report provides an update on the project's progress related to the implementation of IDF curves as a climate service product provided by ANACIM and outlines the prospects for better aligning IDF curves with the demands of hydrological engineering.
