The Universities of Exeter, Cambridge and Nottingham invite you to take part in a webinar, Comparing Farm Sustainability: Introducing the new Sustainable Intensification Benchmarking Tool, on Friday 8th December 2017, 10.30 - 11.30am GMT
As both policy and market interests in sustainability have grown, farmers are increasingly interested in the sustainability performance of their business and how this compares with similar farm businesses. Farmers eagerly await the development of a new British Agricultural Policy – early indications from Defra Secretary Michael Gove indicate that the environment will feature heavily in such a policy.
As part of the Defra-funded Sustainable Intensification Research Platform (SIP) programme, leading Farm Businesses Researchers from the Universities of Cambridge and Nottingham have developed a new SI Benchmarking Tool to help farmers compare their sustainability credentials.
In this webinar, we show how you can use the new SI Benchmarking Tool (available at www.benchmarkmyfarm.co.uk/) to compare your farms sustainability performance with similar farms, your county, or the national average for your farm type. We illustrate how to use the tool, and the data it can return on your business’s carbon footprint, nutrient balances, land use diversity and social interactions.
This webinar is hosted by the University of Exeter. Please email SIP2@exeter.ac.uk to reserve your free place. A recording will be available after the event.
